We wish to welcome and engage everyone regardless of their background, personal preference, belief, view or religion...
Even though we are mostly Vietnamese expatriates--refugees, immigrants or naturalized citizens of the world--we do have other non-Viet friends who share with us a lot of similar interests and passions.
We hope you will have a nice experience here with us, make new friends, broaden our view or knowledge, and help one another to solve daily frivolous problems, controversial issues or more serious crisis--which might affect us all down the road.
The participants are solely responsible for their post and its content.
The general policy for our forums is as follow:
VYF will not condone any kind of personal attacks.
VYF will not allow any type of abusive or foul languages.
VYF will not tolerate any form of harassments or discriminations.
Topics should reflect appropriately the forum in which it was posted.
Replies should be related to the topic of the thread originally created.
Information posted should be written using correct English conventions and grammar.
We reserve the rights to edit and delete words, comments or posts that deemed vulgar, hostile, and offensive to others, or if so requested by the participants involved.
Continual disregards of our policy or hostile and unconstructive behaviors may force us to ban the IP of such violator permanently.

Our Goals
|
With so many options out there, we really appreciate your choice to participate with us.
Our goal is to create a community online where most people would feel comfortable joining. We'd like to maintain a place where members can relax, make new friends, learn new things, share interesting information, find useful answers, seek common grounds, discuss important issues, explore new territories, expand rigid perspective, compromise with opponents, crack a smile, open some hearts, solve some problems, and enrich our knowledge.
Furthermore, we would like to create a respectable forum, a means for us to launch a collective effort to search for or compromise on certain common denominators among ourselves which, hopefully, will lead to some mutual understandings, agreements or resolutions----bring about changes that can help settle some of the issues that had beleaguered our people for generations, resolve problems that an individual--no matter how great or genius a person, even a "super-hero"--could never have solved if he or she were to struggle alone trying.
Ultimately, we'd like to expand VYF into a legitimate medium which would have an impact on the mass, capable of altering or affecting our lives. Along the way, hopefully, each of us can contribute some effort to help preserve our culture, educate our people and improve our country. We're looking forward to your participation and hoping to have your support.
Regrettably, we are still in the progress of setting up our own server. This board is not what we had in mind for the task. However, due to newly arisen events, we have decided that it's time to reopen VYF with phpBB. It's better to gather with the right group of people in a hut, at the right moment, to start "doing the right thing" now, than to meet in a modern office-building, with people who might not know or agree with us, when opportunity had already passed us by, where we might not accomplish much.
We're trying our very best everyday to serve you better, and just as eager to hear from you for suggestions and advices. Please do not hesitate to inform us how to improve ourselves, for the time being, please be patient with our technical shortcomings.
